Should I shut off the pilot light for the Spring & Summer
months when I'm not using my gas stove?
No.
Some spiders are attracted to the smell of gas and may build nests
in the pilot line, clogging it. For pennies a day, it's worthwhile
to keep the pilot lit and avoid an unnecessary service call before
you can begin heating again.
I
don't currently have gas service to my house, but there is a gas
main in the street. Can you install a gas fireplace insert in
my home?
Yes.
The gas company is responsible for bringing gas service from the
street to your home. All it takes is a phone call to them. Typically
they'll bring the gas to your house and install the meter at no
cost to you. Once the gas company has finished, give us a call
and we can install any gas burning product you may have.
I'm
thinking of buying a gas stove for my living room. Are there any
restrictions as to where it can be placed?
Yes.
There are certain restrictions that apply state wide. Your local
hearth product retailer is usually a good resource for this type
of information. Additional requirements may apply, depending on
what town you live in. When we do our pre-install inspection,
we will point out any code requirement issues that may be present.
This
morning I noticed a distinct smell of gas in my living room. Who
should I call?
Call
your gas provider immediately. While the source of the smell may
or may not be that of a gas leak, your first call should always
be to your natural gas supplier.
I'm
looking for a website that allows me to compare different makes
and models of stoves and fireplace inserts. Is there a good Cape
Cod based hearth product retailer on the internet?
Yes.
